Wimbledon 2023 Men’s Final : Winer, Prize Money

Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic to win the Wimbledon 2023 men’s final, denying the Serbian a fifth consecutive title, in a five-set epic and one of the greatest matches ever played at the All England Club.

Wimbledon finale 2023 :

The Wimbledon 2023 match was played between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic tomorrow, July 16. Novak

5 set match summary :

Djokovic won the first set of the match by 1-6,

Alcaraz won the second set by 7-6,

Alcaraz won the third set by 6-1,

Novak Djokovic won the fourth set of the match by 6-1.

Carlos Alcaraz  won the last and fifth set of the match by 6-4 to win the trophy.

The No. 1-ranked Alcaraz prevented Djokovic from what would have been a record-tying eighth title, and fifth in a row, at the grass-court tournament. Djokovic also was kept from claiming his 24th career major.

Instead of Djokovic, a 36-year-old from Serbia, becoming the oldest male champion at Wimbledon in the Open era, Alcaraz, a 20-year-old from Spain, became the third-youngest. The age gap between the two was the widest in any men’s Slam final since 1974.

Wimbledon 2023  Trophy prize money :

Funds generated by The Championships, less tax, are used by the LTA to develop tennis in Great Britain.

In December 2008, the Club and the LTA agreed that the LTA would benefit from receiving 90 per cent of any distributable financial surplus resulting from The Championships until at least 2053.

AELTC would acquire the LTA’s 50 per cent share of ownership in All England Lawn Tennis Ground plc (the company which owns the Wimbledon tennis site and facilities). Capital therefore became freed up in 2013 for the LTA to invest in British tennis and its facilities at all levels.

For the Club, who originally gave this 50 per cent shareholding to the LTA in 1934, the transaction returns to the Club full ownership and control of the site, enabling it to continue its central objective to maintain The Championships as the premier tennis event in the world, with facilities to match.
